Currently non-invasive procedures such as the use of dermal fillers can rejuvenate the face without the associated risks of general anaesthetic, down time or cost of surgery.

Dermal fillers are normally used in the lower third of the face, commonly the creases that lead down from the nose to the mouth.  We can also use them around the forehead and eyes where stubborn lines have formed which cannot be eliminated with Botox.

The natural collagen and elastin in the skin diminishes with age as cells lose their ability to produce more of their youthful component.  When we are born we have plentiful amounts of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) but as we get older the skin becomes dryer and thinner and less well supported as this store of HA diminished.

Dermal fillers are tiny injections of this naturally occurring product (HA) which rejuvenates the face by lifting and smoothing targeted wrinkles.  The effects are seen immediately after the treatment, and can last anything from 3 to 12 months depending on the individual.  They are non-permanent and are absorbed naturally over time so it's your choice when to have further treatment to maintain the effect.

The actual procedure can cause some mild discomfort but we are now using 'Juvederm Ultra' which actually contains a local anaesthetic and so normally eliminates the need for an anaesthetic cream.
